Tarsus soars with XDEMVY's $451M success and new disease-fighting trials
Tarsus Pharmaceuticals has reported strong financial growth for 2025, driven by its blockbuster eye drop XDEMVY. The company also announced key developments in its pipeline, including new clinical trials for ocular rosacea and Lyme disease prevention. Fourth-quarter sales reached $151.7 million, while full-year revenue hit $451.4 million.
XDEMVY (mavorixafor ophthalmic solution) has become one of the top-selling prescription eye drops since its US launch in 2024. By early 2026, it captured 15-20% of the dry eye disease market, outperforming competitors like Restasis and Xiidra. Strong prescription growth and superior Phase 3 trial results fuelled its rapid adoption.
In 2025, Tarsus delivered around 130,000 bottles of XDEMVY in the fourth quarter alone, totaling 400,000 for the year. The drug maintained broad insurance coverage, with over 90% of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans including it. A direct-to-consumer campaign on streaming and TV also proved profitable.
Beyond XDEMVY, Tarsus is expanding its pipeline. A Phase 2 trial for TP-04, targeting ocular rosacea, began recently, with results expected in the first half of 2027. Another Phase 2 study for TP-05, an oral tablet to prevent Lyme disease, is set to start in Q2 2026. Meanwhile, TP-03 (XDEMVY) is on track for global approvals, with potential launches in Greater China in 2026 and Europe and Japan in 2027.
The company also strengthened its leadership by appointing David E.I. Pyott, a veteran biopharmaceutical executive, to its board of directors.
Tarsus closed 2025 with record sales and a growing market presence for XDEMVY. The company's pipeline continues to advance, with new trials and planned international expansions. These moves position Tarsus for further growth in the coming years.
