Urologist warns men over 40 to prioritize prostate cancer screenings now

A leading urologist has called for men over 40 to prioritise regular prostate cancer screenings. Konstantin Antonov stressed that early detection is critical, particularly for those with known risk factors. His warning comes as experts highlight the silent progression of the disease in its early stages. Antonov urged men aged 50 and above to remain especially alert. He pointed to frequent urination, bladder discomfort, and a weak urine flow as key warning signs. However, he noted that early-stage prostate cancer often shows no symptoms at all.

The specialist also flagged lifestyle risks. Men with diets heavy in red meat and animal fats face higher chances of developing the disease. Excess weight further increases vulnerability, making regular check-ups even more important.

The advice underscores the need for proactive health measures among middle-aged and older men. Without routine screenings, prostate cancer can advance unnoticed, delaying vital treatment. Those with dietary or weight-related risks are being urged to act without delay.
