A woman in Kotlas, Arkhangelsk Oblast, developed a severe infection after attempting to remove a pimple on her forehead. The incident led to a dangerous abscess that spread across her face, requiring urgent medical intervention.

The trouble began when the woman tried to pop a pimple without washing her hands. A day later, the area around the spot started to swell. Instead of improving, her condition rapidly worsened.

Three days after the initial attempt, she sought medical help. However, her symptoms grew more severe two days after treatment. The infection had triggered an abscess, causing her entire face to swell.

Doctors acted quickly, performing an emergency incision on her forehead. They also prescribed antibiotics to fight the spreading infection. Despite these efforts, her condition did not stabilise, leading to hospitalisation for further care.

The case highlights the risks of improper hygiene when handling skin issues. The woman's infection stemmed from unsanitised hands, which introduced bacteria into the wound. Medical professionals had to intervene with surgery and medication to control the abscess.
