AltaiBiotech Technopark Leads Russia’s Push for Local Dietary Supplement Production
Altai Territory Governor Viktor Tomenko recently visited Biysk to inspect the AltaiBiotech industrial technopark, which is Russia’s only large-scale hub for producing and researching dietary supplements. With a budget exceeding 1.2 billion rubles, it plays a key role in the region’s push for import substitution in this sector.
The technopark currently hosts seven companies focused on developing dietary supplements. Its advanced infrastructure supports both manufacturing and scientific work, making it a unique asset for the region.
Altai Territory is home to three major technoparks: AltaiBiotech in Biysk, Komponent in Barnaul, and Yug Altaya in Rubtsovsk. Each specialises in different industries, driving innovation and economic growth.
In Barnaul Technopark, leading firms include LLC Vector (software development), LLC SibAltSoft (IT solutions), and LLC Altai BioTech (biotechnology). Meanwhile, Yug Altaya Technopark features LLC Altai Electronics (electronics manufacturing), LLC NanoAltai (nanotechnology), and LLC AgroTech Altai (agricultural tech innovations).
The region actively supports businesses, particularly through technoparks, to boost local industries. AltaiBiotech’s focus on dietary supplements aligns with Altai Territory’s strategy to strengthen import substitution. The technopark’s specialised equipment and research capabilities provide a strong foundation for resident companies to expand production and innovation.
The AltaiBiotech project highlights the region’s commitment to fostering high-tech industries. With seven resident companies already operating, the technopark is set to become a major player in Russia’s dietary supplement market. Its success could further attract investment and expertise to Altai Territory’s growing tech and biotech sectors.
