Skipping breakfast may not harm your health, says Moscow's top dietitian
Moscow’s chief dietitian, Antonina Starodubova, has stated that eating breakfast daily is not a strict requirement for good health. She argues that those with no health concerns and different routines need not force the habit. Starodubova explained that people can skip breakfast if their schedule or health does not demand it. She emphasised that a balanced meal, when chosen, should include proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.
For those who do eat in the morning, she recommends whole-grain porridge, low-fat dairy, or egg dishes with vegetables and fruit. She also advises using cooking methods like boiling, steaming, baking, stewing, or grilling instead of frying. Her advice highlights flexibility in dietary habits. A varied and nutritious breakfast can support health, but it is not mandatory for everyone. The focus remains on listening to one’s body and maintaining balance in food choices.
