Amur Book Shores Fair Honors Local History and Cultural Dialogues

The 15th International Book Fair and Exhibition Amur Book Shores took place in Blagoveshchensk from June 19 to 21. The event attracted over 70 authors who showcased more than 140 publications to the jury. Several works received recognition in different categories during the fair. Among the awarded publications was Across the Islands and Shores of the Sea of Okhotsk by Georgiy Dulkeit. The book explores the economic history of the Sea of Okhotsk region between 1924 and 1928. It covers local factories and trade connections with Japanese merchants, accompanied by photographs of the coastline, Kamchatka, wildlife, and archival images from Alexander Smyshlyaev. This work earned a third-degree diploma in the Fascinating Local History category.

Another highlighted project was the bibliographic index Man of the Long Spring. Prepared by the Magadan Regional Youth Library, it was published by St. Petersburg’s Kordis Publishing House. The index is the first comprehensive guide to Yuri Rytkheu’s works since 1957. It resulted from a collaboration between the Magadan Regional Cultural Workers’ Public Organization, the Pushkin Library, and Okhotnik Publishing House. The index received a second-degree diploma in the Dialogue of Cultures category. The fair celebrated literary achievements and cultural exchanges. It provided a platform for authors to present diverse works spanning history, culture, and bibliography. Recognised publications included detailed historical accounts and long-awaited bibliographic guides.
