Jetisu Region transforms rural healthcare with new facilities and specialists

Jetisu Region has made significant strides in improving its healthcare system. A wave of new specialists, facilities, and equipment has been introduced over the past year, with a strong focus on rural areas. Under the Modernization of Rural Healthcare project, 59 new medical institutions have been built and 13 have undergone major renovations. This year, newly reconstructed central district hospitals in Panfilov, Kerbulak, and Aksu, along with the regional children’s hospital in Taldykorgan, will open their doors. A new polyclinic in the regional capital, capable of handling 500 patient visits per shift, is also set to launch soon.

The region has updated 63.8% of its medical infrastructure, primarily in rural locations. Additionally, 93% of healthcare facilities now have modernised equipment. Over the past year, 29 new ambulances and 165 units of advanced medical equipment were acquired.

To attract talent, Jetisu Region introduced relocation bonuses of 5 to 10 million tenge for medical workers. This incentive has already brought 153 young specialists to the area, with 57 assigned to rural regions and 96 to cities. The region’s healthcare system now employs over 8,000 medical workers. Since its establishment, 149 new healthcare facilities have been commissioned. The efforts have strengthened the region’s healthcare capacity. More modern facilities, better equipment, and a growing workforce are now in place to serve the population. These changes are expected to improve access to medical services, particularly in rural communities.
