Kazakhstan Delivers 318 Tons of Critical Aid to Struggling Afghanistan

Kazakhstan has sent a major shipment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The delivery weighs 318.8 metric tons and includes essential supplies for those in need. The country remains the largest provider of such assistance in Central Asia. The aid was transported by train and air, organised by KazAID with support from several government ministries. It contains 1.867 tons of vital medications and medical supplies, along with 300 tons of sugar, 100 summer tents, bedding, and other relief items.

A team of nine Kazakhstani doctors has also been deployed to Afghanistan to provide medical support. This effort comes as UN data shows around 30 million Afghans need humanitarian aid, with 1.3 million children under five requiring urgent treatment for malnutrition.

Kazakhstan considers Afghanistan a priority partner in the region. The UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan operates from Almaty. Its role is to strengthen cooperation, coordinate sustainable development efforts, and attract investment. The humanitarian aid and medical team aim to address urgent needs in Afghanistan. Kazakhstan continues to play a key role in supporting the country. The ongoing efforts reflect its commitment to regional stability and development.
