Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel recently visited Jhirniya in Khargone district. He inaugurated a new blood bank and addressed the tribal community on health and development initiatives. His speech focused on government efforts to support marginalised groups and combat diseases like sickle cell and tuberculosis. Governor Patel began by highlighting progress in tribal areas under key schemes. He spoke about the Pradhan Mantri Janman Yojana and the Dharti Aba Village Development Scheme. Both aim to uplift backward communities through targeted support.

He then discussed healthcare advancements. The Governor presented sickle cell certificates to Ranjana and Sanjana. He also gave food baskets to tuberculosis patients Thavali Bai and Billor. In his remarks, he stressed that tuberculosis can be cured with regular six-month medication.

Patel praised the Sickle Cell Mitra initiative for its role in aiding patients. He noted that digital cards have been issued to all sickle cell sufferers to streamline care. The Governor also reaffirmed Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to eliminating sickle cell disease by 2047.

Beyond healthcare, Patel announced donations to the Health Department. These included two new ambulances and a hearse to improve emergency services. MP Gyaneshwar Patil later revealed a new 1500 crore lift irrigation scheme for Jhirniya, approved by the state government. The Governor’s visit brought attention to ongoing health and development projects in the region. New infrastructure like the blood bank and ambulances will enhance local services. The initiatives aim to ensure better access to healthcare and resources for tribal communities.
