Russia funds 25 new infrastructure projects, including Magadan's high-tech maternity hospital

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has expanded the list of projects funded by the National Welfare Fund and government programmes. The updated list now includes 25 large-scale infrastructure developments, with a strong focus on social facilities. Among them is a new regional maternity hospital in Magadan, secured through efforts by Governor Sergei Nosov. The directive signed by Mishustin adds critical projects to the federal funding list. These include the Kamchatka Regional Hospital, children’s hospitals, and major road reconstructions across several regions. Each project undergoes strict oversight by state and regulatory bodies to prevent corruption and ensure proper use of funds.

The Magadan maternity hospital will span 20,000 square metres. It will feature an 80-bed inpatient unit, a modern women’s clinic, and a day hospital. The facility will use advanced Russian-made medical equipment, including neonatal care systems.

The hospital’s capacity will serve not only Magadan but also neighbouring regions like Chukotka and Kamchatka. This ensures high-quality care without reducing access for local expectant mothers. The project is part of the People’s Program of the United Russia party, guaranteeing continuous funding for its completion. The monitoring process will ensure the hospital and other listed projects are completed on schedule. Once operational, the facility will provide top-tier medical care. This is expected to reduce maternal and infant mortality risks in the region significantly.
