Artefacta 2027 Explores Sustainability and Heritage in Estonia's Cultural Hubs

The Fifth International Artefacta Conference has announced its theme as 'Sustainability and Heritage'. The event will take place in Tartu and Viljandi, Estonia, from April 14 to 16, 2027. Organisers are now inviting abstract proposals from researchers across various disciplines. The conference aims to link objects and material culture with broader discussions on sustainability and cultural heritage. It welcomes submissions from a wide range of fields, including history, archaeology, anthropology, museology, and art history, among others. Proposals may come from interdisciplinary perspectives and can cover oral presentations, posters, or practical workshops.

Multiple presenters or workshop conveners are allowed for each submission. Each proposal must not exceed 1000 characters in length. The deadline for all submissions is November 15, 2026. Accepted participants will join discussions on how material culture intersects with sustainability and heritage. The event offers a platform for sharing research and fostering collaboration across diverse academic and professional fields.
