Talaya Health Resort Reopens After a Stunning 6 Billion Ruble Transformation

The Talaya health resort officially reopened on 12 June 2023 after a complete renovation. Once a modest sanatorium, it has now become a modern balneological resort. The revival was achieved through a public-private partnership, with Alexander Basanasky serving as the main investor. The transformation of Talaya involved extensive upgrades and new facilities. The resort now features four comfortable accommodation buildings, an open-air thermal pool, a year-round ice rink, a tennis court, and an agricultural complex. It can accommodate 320 guests, including a dedicated children’s wing with 85 beds.

Alexander Basanasky invested over 6 billion rubles in the project. More than 1 billion rubles went towards state-of-the-art medical equipment. The reopening ceremony was attended by Sergei Smirnov, Chairman of the Magadan City Duma, and Petr Burmistrov, First Deputy Chairman of the Duma.

Sergei Nosov, Governor of Magadan Oblast, spoke about the social benefits of reviving the resort. Sergei Smirnov highlighted its importance for local residents. Petr Burmistrov underscored the resort’s significant impact on public health. The resort now operates as a cutting-edge facility with advanced medical and recreational amenities. Its reopening marks a major development for the region’s health and tourism sectors. The investment and upgrades aim to serve both visitors and the local community effectively.
