Navi Mumbai gets advanced medical upgrades with new dialysis and MRI centres
Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik inaugurated and launched several advanced medical facilities across Navi Mumbai on Monday. The new services include dialysis centres, an MRI centre, and other critical healthcare upgrades. These developments aim to improve patient care and accessibility in the region. At Vashi Public Hospital, multiple facilities were officially opened. These include an MRI Centre equipped with a 3 Tesla Siemens Healthcare machine for precise disease diagnosis. A Central Sterile Services Department was also inaugurated to reduce infection risks and boost patient safety. Additionally, a Hospital Bed Availability Dashboard, a Milk Bank, and a Modular Mortuary were introduced at the same location.
A Human Milk Bank was established at Maasaheb Meenatai Thackeray Hospital in Nerul. This facility features collection centres spread across Navi Mumbai to support newborns and mothers. NMMC also launched an online Hospital Bed Availability Dashboard, providing real-time information on bed availability in local hospitals.
Ganesh Naik inaugurated a 50-bed dialysis centre at Swami Vivekanand Cultural Hall in Sector 14, Vashi. He also opened an Urban Primary Health Centre in Mahape. A dialysis centre at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Bhavan in CBD Belapur and a veterinary hospital in Juinagar were inaugurated virtually. Foundation work for Cath Labs at Vashi and Airoli hospitals was also launched during the event. The new medical facilities are now operational across Navi Mumbai. They expand access to critical healthcare services, including dialysis, advanced diagnostics, and infection control. The online dashboard will help residents quickly locate available hospital beds.
