Neuwied's Free Course Teaches Climate-Friendly Cooking on October 16
Neuwied District Adult Education Center is running a new course on sustainable cooking. Titled 'Climate-Friendly Cooking', it will take place on October 16 at the ASL in Linkenbach. The session begins at 5 p.m. and is open to all interested participants. The course will be led by Brigitte Lange, a qualified nutrition and home economics specialist. Janine Sieben, Neuwied District’s climate protection manager, will assist her. Together, they will guide attendees through practical ways to make their kitchen habits more sustainable.
Participants will explore the use of regional and seasonal ingredients. They will also learn to reduce meat and fish consumption while keeping meals tasty and varied. The course will cover short cooking times and energy-efficient preparation methods to minimise environmental impact.
Attendees can expect simple, delicious recipes made with natural ingredients. These will be easy to follow and adapt for everyday cooking. The course itself is free, but a €7 fee for ingredients will be payable directly to Brigitte Lange. The course aims to help people make small, practical changes in their cooking routines. By focusing on sustainability, it encourages the use of local produce and efficient techniques. The session will provide skills that participants can apply immediately in their own kitchens.
