Epic Beaker streamlines lab workflows within Epic's EHR ecosystem

Epic Beaker is a laboratory information system integrated into the Epic electronic health record. Additionally, separate certification is required for clinical pathology and anatomic pathology, and certified analysts should remain available even after implementation.

As part of the broader Epic agreement, Beaker is not licensed independently. Organisations running outreach programmes should clearly define billing processes for reference lab services within the module. The system improves efficiency and accuracy in lab workflows. Its integration with Epic means it relies on the existing Epic infrastructure. Proper validation, certification, and staffing are essential for its effective operation.
