Electric Trikes Bring Newfound Freedom to Residents with Limited Mobility

Regens Wagner Holzhausen has expanded its mobility options for residents with limited movement. Three new electric tricycles, funded by Aktion Mensch, now offer greater freedom and independence. The fleet includes a single-seater, a tandem, and a rickshaw to suit different needs. The e-trikes were introduced to improve residents' quality of life. Stored in an easily accessible spot, they encourage regular use for both fun and health. Protective helmets are on the way to ensure safe riding.

Staff members have welcomed the new additions. Robert Scholz, head of the therapeutic education home, highlighted the rickshaw's value for outings with children. Niklas Kirsch, a group worker, expressed enthusiasm for the tandem, which allows group rides and social bonding.

Residents already benefit from the tricycles in multiple ways. The vehicles boost confidence, promote outdoor exercise, and strengthen mental well-being. They also help foster social inclusion, giving users a greater sense of agency. The e-trikes provide practical and emotional advantages for Regens Wagner Holzhausen. They support physical activity, social interaction, and independence for residents. The project reflects ongoing efforts to enhance mobility for people with limited movement.
