Heart Check While Shopping: Tests Aim to Prevent Diseases - Frankfurt Hospital Launches Free Heart Checks for Women in Hesse
Frankfurt University Hospital has launched a new campaign to improve women's heart health in Hesse. The initiative, called Women's Hearts Beat Differently, kicks off as part of the hospital's Prevention Year programme. It will offer free health checks and expert advice to help prevent cardiovascular disease.
The campaign began in January 2026 and focuses on early detection of heart risks in women. A mobile health station will tour shopping centres, starting at the Main-Taunus-Zentrum. Visitors can receive ECGs, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol tests at the information booth.
The event will feature Lena Seegers, head of Frankfurt's Women Heart Health Center, alongside Hesse's Health Minister, Diana Stolz (CDU). Their goal is to raise awareness and encourage earlier action against risk factors that lead to medical emergencies.
Over the year, the hospital will team up with local organisations to host more events on different health topics. In March, sessions will cover cardiac arrhythmias, colorectal cancer, and obesity. No further shopping centre locations in Hesse have been announced for 2026.
The Prevention Year initiative aims to reduce heart disease in women through accessible screenings and education. Free tests and expert talks will continue throughout 2026, with the next events scheduled for March. The hospital's focus remains on early prevention and community engagement.
