Free Wiesbaden Lecture Explores Gut Health, Allergies and Dietary Fixes
A free public lecture on digestive health will take place in Wiesbaden on December 3, 2025. Titled A Good Gut Feeling, the event will explore food intolerances, allergies, and dietary solutions for metabolic conditions. Experts will explain how diet can ease symptoms and improve well-being. The lecture is part of the Understandable Medicine series, held at Wiesbaden City Hall. Prof. Dr. Franz-Josef Prott will lead the programme, offering context and moderating a Q&A session. Three specialists will present on key topics.
Dr. Hanan Adib-Tezer will address *Food Allergies: New and Hidden Allergens on the Rise*. Unlike intolerances, allergies involve the immune system, but both can cause severe discomfort. Caroline Hehner, a nutrition scientist, will then discuss *Nutrition for Metabolic Syndrome and Fatty Liver Disease*, focusing on dietary strategies. Food intolerances, such as lactose or fructose malabsorption, stem from digestive issues rather than allergic reactions. Symptoms like bloating, cramps, or fatigue affect around 20 percent of Germans after meals—often without a clear cause. The event aims to clarify these differences and provide practical insights.
The December 3 lecture offers a chance to learn from medical professionals about managing food-related discomfort. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of intolerances, allergies, and diet-based solutions. Entry is free, and no prior registration is required.
