Mumbai's top schools redefine student wellness with holistic care models

A recent survey has highlighted the growing focus on student health and well-being in Mumbai's schools. The FPJ Mumbai Schools Survey 2025, now in its third edition, assessed institutions across the city for their commitment to physical, emotional, and nutritional wellness. Every school surveyed reported having dedicated systems in place to support student welfare. The findings reveal that over 90% of participating schools regularly hold health sessions involving parents. While many institutions follow routine, compliance-driven approaches to nutrition and well-being, some have stood out for their exceptional efforts.

Five schools were specifically recognised for their outstanding work in student health. These include D G Khetan International School in Malad, Bai Avabai Petit Girls' High School in Bandra, Children's Academy International School in Ashok Nagar, and both branches of Bombay Cambridge International School in Andheri (East and West). Each of these institutions has implemented strong programmes to ensure children receive balanced nutrition, emotional support, and physical care.

The survey underscored the importance of a holistic approach to student wellness. Schools are increasingly prioritising not just academic performance but also the overall development of their pupils. The FPJ Mumbai Schools Survey 2025 confirms that all surveyed schools now have structured well-being systems. With more than nine in ten engaging parents in health discussions, the trend reflects a broader shift toward proactive student care. The recognised schools serve as models for integrating nutrition, emotional support, and physical health into daily education.
