New Webinar Reveals How Plasma Proteins Boost Adult Dog Nutrition
A new webinar on plasma proteins in adult dog nutrition will take place on 11 January, led by Dr. Joy Campbell, Senior Director of Global Technical Service at APC. The session will share findings from recent research programs, focusing on practical uses for pet food manufacturers.
Topics will cover gut health, mobility benefits, and how these insights can shape product development and formulation strategies.
Dr. Campbell, a specialist in functional plasma proteins, has spent years studying their impact on animal health. Her work includes multiple publications and memberships in key industry associations. The upcoming webinar will highlight two major APC research initiatives relevant to pet food teams.
Recent studies (2020–2025) have shown that adding 2–5% spray-dried porcine plasma to dog food improves palatability, gut health, and nutrient uptake. Tests on weaning puppies revealed a 30% reduction in diarrhoea when plasma powder was included. Leading institutions—such as Kansas State University (Hill et al., 2021), the University of Illinois (Stein group, 2023–2024), and APC Inc. (van Eekeren et al., 2022, Journal of Animal Science)—have published supporting data.
The webinar will air live at 10:00 AM CST (Chicago), 4:00 PM GMT (London), and 12:00 AM CST (Beijing, 11 January). Attendees will learn how these findings can be applied to real-world pet food production.
The session aims to provide pet food manufacturers with actionable research on plasma proteins. By incorporating these insights, companies could enhance product quality, particularly in gut health and nutrient efficiency. Registration details and further information are expected to be released ahead of the event.
