Primorsky Krai under high fire alert as 17 districts face wildfire risk

A high fire risk has been declared across large parts of Primorsky Krai. Authorities warn that even a single spark could trigger severe wildfires. The alert covers May 12 and 13, with multiple districts under threat. Seventeen districts in the region will face elevated fire danger during this period. These include Khankaysky, Ussuriysky, Oktyabrsky, Pogranichny, Khorolsky, Chernigovsky, Spassky, Anuchinsky, Yakovlevsky, Chuguyevsky, Krasnoarmeysky, Lesozavodsky, Kirovsky, Dalnerechensky, Terneysky, Kavalerovsky, and Dalnegorsky. Officials have stressed that dry conditions make the area particularly vulnerable.

The fire risk level has been raised to 4, classified as 'high'. Authorities have reminded residents that open fires are strictly banned. Even small actions, like improperly extinguished cigarette butts or matches, could lead to uncontrolled blazes.

Residents and visitors are urged to follow all fire safety rules. Discarded smoking materials must be fully put out to avoid accidental ignitions. The region remains on alert as officials monitor the situation closely.
