Anastasia Koshkina, a senior inspector for public outreach at the Magadan Region’s Main Directorate for Road Safety (UGIBDD), has highlighted common violations and dangers that lead to accidents and penalties. Speeding, ignoring right-of-way rules, and driving into oncoming traffic are among the top causes of collisions. Motorcycle riders face especially high risks, as the lack of structural protection often leads to severe injuries in crashes.

Novice drivers frequently break traffic laws by speeding, parking incorrectly, or stopping in restricted areas. Despite their inexperience, police do not show leniency toward them. However, displaying a 'beginner driver' sticker can encourage other motorists to be more patient. The most widespread violations include running red lights and improper seatbelt use. Officers also watch for signs of drunk driving, such as erratic movements or drivers rolling down windows in freezing temperatures. Traffic police retain the right to stop vehicles for random document checks, even without visible offences. Illegal window tinting continues to be a problem. Those caught with overly dark films face fines of up to 4,000 rubles and possible administrative detention.

Authorities stress the importance of following traffic laws to reduce accidents and injuries. Both new and seasoned drivers must stay vigilant, as violations carry financial penalties and safety risks. Police will maintain strict enforcement to improve road conditions for everyone.
