Multiple Years in Prison for Poisoning Attacks on Rescue Station - Trainee Paramedic Convicted of Poisoning 12 Coworkers with Stolen Medication

A 25-year-old trainee paramedic has been convicted of poisoning her colleagues by spiking their drinks with stolen medication. The incidents took place between October 2023 and April 2024 in the Ludwigsburg district. Twelve coworkers required medical treatment or hospitalisation after consuming the tainted drinks.

The defendant admitted to adding atropine—a prescription drug—to her colleagues' beverages. She claimed her actions were meant to 'teach them a lesson' and 'annoy them', insisting she had no intention of causing serious harm or death.

The poisonings led to severe symptoms, including rapid heartbeats, double vision, and at least one medical emergency during a callout. Prosecutors initially pushed for an attempted murder conviction, but the court ultimately found her guilty of grievous bodily harm. The case faced delays after the first trial collapsed when a lay judge died unexpectedly. A retrial began in mid-December last year, leading to the final verdict.

Twelve paramedics from the Ludwigsburg area suffered health consequences due to the poisoned drinks. The trainee paramedic now faces legal consequences for her actions. The court's ruling closes a case that began with a series of deliberate poisonings over several months.
