USV Acquires 79% Stake in Wellbeing Nutrition for ₹1,583 Crore to Enter Premium Health Market
USV Pvt Ltd, a major Indian pharmaceutical firm, has bought a 79% stake in Wellbeing Nutrition for Rs 1,583 crore. The deal marks the company's push into premium nutrition and preventive healthcare. Wellbeing Nutrition, known for its science-backed, clean-label products, has seen rapid growth in recent years.
Founded in 1961, USV is a leader in oral anti-diabetic and cardiovascular medicines. It reported Rs 5,200 crore in revenue for FY25 and also markets the German skincare brand Sebamed in India. The acquisition aligns with its plans to expand beyond traditional pharmaceuticals.
Wellbeing Nutrition, launched in 2022, has grown by 120% over the past two years. The brand expects to exceed Rs 450 crore in revenue by FY27. Founder Avnish Chhabria stated that the partnership with USV will speed up growth while keeping the brand's consumer-focused approach.
USV Managing Director Prashant Tewari called the deal a 'future-oriented expansion'. The move strengthens the company's position in the fast-growing nutraceutical market, where demand for clean-label products is rising.
The acquisition gives USV a strong foothold in premium nutrition and preventive healthcare. Wellbeing Nutrition's rapid growth and science-backed products will now operate under USV's established pharmaceutical network. The deal is set to reshape the company's long-term strategy in India's health and wellness sector.
