Violent hospital rampage leaves staff injured and security under scrutiny

Chaos erupted at Central Hospital in Ulhasnagar after relatives of a deceased patient allegedly vandalised the facility and assaulted medical staff. The incident began when family members of Bhagwan Nimbhore accused doctors of negligence following his death during treatment. The situation escalated quickly as Nimbhore’s relatives reportedly smashed glass panels, damaged hospital property, and threw medical equipment. Several doctors and staff were pushed and manhandled in the process. Police from Central Police Station arrived promptly to restore order.

In response, doctors and hospital staff staged a work boycott. They demanded stronger security measures and immediate action against the attackers. Protesters highlighted a growing trend of violence against healthcare workers, citing inadequate security in hospitals. Authorities later confirmed that strict legal action would be taken against those responsible for the vandalism and assault. They also announced plans to enhance security, including stationing armed police personnel at the hospital.

The hospital has pledged to tighten security following the violent outburst. Legal proceedings against the accused are expected to proceed. Meanwhile, medical staff continue to call for better protection to prevent future incidents.
