Vladivostok's Polyclinic No. 6 now offers advanced urological surgeries under MHI

Vladivostok's multidisciplinary clinical center (Polyclinic No. 6) has expanded its surgical services under mandatory health insurance (MHI). Doctors can now perform complex urological procedures, marking a key development in the region's healthcare. The move follows upgrades to the facility's equipment and infrastructure in recent years. The center's surgical unit was modernised as part of the national project Long and Active Life. In 2023, it received a new laparoscopic tower and advanced instruments, enabling minimally invasive procedures. These upgrades allowed the team to carry out a wider range of operations, including urological surgeries.

The first patient to benefit from the new capabilities was a veteran of the special military operation. He underwent a laparoscopic cyst removal with abdominal drainage and was discharged after five days in hospital. The procedure demonstrated the center's readiness to handle complex cases under the MHI system. In 2025 alone, the facility performed 858 general surgeries, 575 otolaryngology operations, and 131 coloproctology procedures. Gynecological surgeries reached 22 that year. Beyond operations, the center also provides rehabilitation services in a dedicated department staffed by specialists.

The expansion of urological surgeries under MHI reflects the center's growing capacity. Patients now have access to advanced treatments without additional costs. The improvements align with ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare accessibility in the region.
